· Worked in T.V serials like Crime Patrol for Sony T.V, Ramayana for ZEE T.V, Shapath for LIFE OK etc. and as a theatre artist with groups like Theatre Arpana, Gillo , Tamaasha theatre and plays like Mr. Jeejeeboy and the birds, Hibakusha, Ek Aur Aam Kahani, Karna-The generous warrior , Aas ke panchhi as a lead actor.

· Short film-‘Pandrawi’ –winner of Audience choice award in 48 hour film project,Mumbai.

Who is she?

Sakshi Kumar is a creative director & founder of ‘Sanskriti-A School of Indian Performing Arts’ in Sydney ,Australia. She completed her schooling from Convent of Jesus & Mary, New Delhi, India and is a Mathematics graduate from Jesus and Mary College, New Delhi . She is a trained Kathak dancer trained under the tutelage of Pt. Jai Kishan Maharaj(s/o Pt. Birju Maharaj) from the leading institute of Kathak- Kathak Kendra, New Delhi. She has completed M.A in Kathak.

She is a topper of Kathak Kendra,2012 and a graded artist of Delhi Doordarshan .She has also worked worked with Embassy of India, Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan as a Cultural Ambassador of India to Kyrgyzstan through ICCR. She has performed extensively in India and abroad.Furthermore,she has completed her Arengettam in Kathakali under Guru Sh. Jagadeesan Nair Thiruvattar from The International Centre for Kathakali, New Delhi in 2018.Click on the link below for video.

Sakshi is married to Suresh Kumar-a young and energetic Mayurbhanj Chhau exponent and choreographer who took his training from Guru J.J. Sai Babu . He is also trained in Kathakali from Guru Sh. Jagadeesan Nair Thiruvattar at The International Centre of Kathakali, New Delhi and furthermore he is also trained in contemporary style of dancing. He has performed extensively in India and abroad.

During her tenure in Kyrgyzstan, Sakshi taught in various dance schools of Bishkek and had over a 100 students in Kyrgyzstan learning their language- Russian. Sakshi was immensely loved by the Kyrgyz people and she left no stone unturned to make Indian culture reach the hearts of people.
